Happy Birthday to Me

Yesterday I turned 30. I had fun, drinks and friends. Today I am feeling a little worse for wear but have pulled up okay.

Hip Hip Hooray for the next decade.

Liz and James had their baby this afternoon, Elijah Daniel. I cannot wait to meet him and congratulate the proud parents!

Hurrah!

Baby Shower Blues

So I turned up today at my mother-in-law's for my sister-in-laws baby shower, gifts in hand. One of which was this quilt that I was frantically finishing until 1am this morning.... and I was a day late.

I don't know what was going on with my brain, all week I've been thinking that the shower was on Sunday etc etc. So anyway, I dropped in on Liz and James and had a cup of tea.

The book, by Nikki McClure was the inspiration for the colour palette.

Wholly Handmade Christmas

I've toyed with the idea of a Wholly Handmade Christmas before, and always given up on the idea, citing not enough time as the main reason. Whilst I am as busy as ever, I'm beginning to think more and more about the type of gifts I like to give. I spend a lot of time making handmade gifts for people I've never met, and whilst I enjoy swapping I think it is time to spend some crafting energy on gifts for loved ones.

So embarking on the Wholly Handmade Christmas Adventure, I have approximately 20 or so gifts to think about and make. I'm starting early enough (I think) for this not to be a problem.

If anyone else is up for the challenge, I'd love to hear from you!

In the Swing of Swaps

I've joined a few swaps lately through Swap-bot and these are the latest efforts:

Pincushion Swap

Handmade Happiness Swap

I've got two others on the go at the moment, Recipe and Handmade Swap and a Doll Quilt Swap. I've been enjoying these small projects. I've been thinking about coordinating my own as well... more on that later.
