Freezer Paper & Cheers to TGP

My parents in law brought me back some freezer paper from their trip to the States and Canada, ahhh holy roll - I have 50 feet of it!

My first go, suffered a little from being a little too excited and peeling the paper off before it was completely dry, but I am happy with the outcome:

My second go was for a swap that's about to be posted off, sneak peek below:

I'm very excited about the possibilites, I like the idea of layering, embroidery upon stencil etc, something I have been exploring in a small way, but would like to try it on something larger scale.

p.s. A drink and cheers to my Grandpa for his birthday yesterday, he passed away a few years ago and I miss him alot. XX

Lovely Rain

Yeah for rain, hurrah for rain. It's cleaned up the dust, watered the thirsty garden, filled people's tanks, cleaned out my cloggy mind. I feel refreshed, reinvigorated, focused. I have things to do, the house, my craft, our business. The rain has cleared out the heavy heat that stops me from wanting to do anything, the lazy heat that makes me want to sit and do nothing. I hate that heat. Of course, it will be back, but I am hopeful that this mid-Summer, mid-drought rain, this break from the season will rejuvenate me and keep me on track.

I've been on holidays for a week. I've finished up in my previous position and am moving into another area at work, an area that my husband and are part owners. It's exciting and scary. I have another week's break until I'm back at work, a week to do whatever I like. I usually make endless lists of things that I want to do, and fulfil about a third (if that), but I have resisted actually writing them down this time...I'm not sure why. D teases me about these lists, lists that when you look at them, look at the time involved to achieve them leave no room for just relaxing. I have relaxed though. I've been to the movies, had dinner with friends, visited my grandparents, gone plant shopping and had lunch with my Dad, but now there's the rain. I want to select paint for the house, design some leadlight windows, work in the garden, make some shoes, tidy the craft room (which D tells me I could do that all week and still not have it finished, and I guess he may have been right about that).

But that was before the rain. Now I am going to Bunnings, D is waiting in the hall... off we go.

Christmas Gifts that made the Deadline

I always have grand ideas about making all of my Christmas Gifts and it doesn't seem to matter how many months before Christmas I start, I never manage as many as I would like. These two were one's I finished in time, one of which I started in October, the other Christmas Eve, can you tell which is which?

Another gift for a friend were these Babooshka Dolls, I'd been thinking about them for awhile, a doll within a pillow, within a pillow. I've got some ideas for more of these lovely ladies....

Merry Christmas

On and off there has been some crazy crafting... with more to come. I've got so many things on the go!

Most recently:

These were a bunch of fun, have a couple more to go. I've always wanted a pair of these boots with the scalloped flap - I might make some real ones sometime!

These mobiles are for a couple of my nieces', must get them in the post. They were totally inspired by this lass .

Received Swaps - Hurrah

Yesterday and today I received post - I love packages, the anticipation of what's inside - hurrah!

The recycled stuffy I received yesterday came from Giovanna in Italy.

Today's package from the 'I can't get that where I live" swap from Ola in the Czech Republic.

How spoilt!
